This 14-year-old single malt from Mortlach is something you won’t commonly find, thanks to a lovely finish in ex-Moscatel casks to give a sweet boost to Mortlach’s characteristically robust nature. Bottled at an elevated abv of 47.5% without chill filtration or added colouring
Tasting notes
NOSE: Bold soaked fruit and roasted, caramelised nuts, fragrant oak, and woody vanilla.
PALATE: Sweet sultanas balance juicy barley, with toasted almonds and fresh vanilla pod following. Things continue with chewy toffee, tinned pineapple, and bittersweet citrus.
FINISH: A core of earthy spice comes to the fore, with hefty malt, mocha, and spiced fruit loaf.
