Archie Rose Heritage Red Gum Cask

This limited release from Sydney-based Archie Rose was matured in a cask made from Australian native red gum and used to mature apera fortified wine for many decades. After more than four years of maturation, these casks are tasting an absolute treat. With notes of incense and bush honey and a restrained elegance both satisfying and assertive.

Tasting notes

NOSE: Incredibly complex, intertwining sun-dried raisins, bush honey, and apricots with subtle undertones of eucalypt, sandalwood, and hazelnut butter.

PALATE: Silky at the onset, unveiling glacé cherries and dried orange zest that smoothly transition into a deep, expansive mid-palate boasting rockmelon, roasted pecans, and dried jasmine flowers.

FINISH: A prolonged and intricate interplay between cask and spirit concludes with a crescendo of milk chocolate, bush honey, and lingering incense.
