This Wemyss Glenallachie has been matured in a single sherry cask and delivers an umami-like experience; robust and savoury with pink peppercorn spice, strong dark chocolate and buttery oak.
Nose: Oily, leathered horse saddles, chicken stock and freshly made noodle soup.
Taste: Pleasantly thick body, almost syrupy. A strong dark chocolate fudge note upfront. Bitter charcoal, buttery oak, and just a smear of gooseberry jam.
Finish: Runs a fairly spicy streak, with cinnamon, cloves and cracked pink peppercorns providing a bit of bite and a pleasant bitterness toward the end.
