Author Dev Kumar was born in Malaysia and currently resides in Singapore.
His primary intent of this book was for it to be a light hearted read about whiskies, especially single malts and the whisky industry from an Asian consumer’s perspective.
It tries to answer many questions a person new on the path of whisky appreciation might have, especially on malt whisky. The book delves into topics like “whisky jargon”, how to pronounce distillery names correctly, understanding technicalities of whisky making at a very high level, understanding wood management and also understanding what is said and equally important, not said, on whisky labels. It further explores the whiskies from new age producers like Japan, Taiwan, India, Australia and a number of other countries.
Makes for a good read or a nice gift for whisky connoisseurs or beginners alike.
