What an exciting experimental whiskey from the Teeling Distillery…and it works!!

This is a small batch in collaboration with Plantation Rum, using casks that have held Stiggins’ Pineapple Rum.  This small-batch release features whiskey which has been matured separately in ex-bourbon barrels for a period of 6 years before being carried in Plantation Stiggins Fancy Pineapple Rum Barrels for a further period of 15 months.

The Plantation Pineapple Rum cask was reated by Alexandre Gabriel and David Wondrich, author of the book Imbibe, as a tribute to the esteemed Reverend Stiggins whose favourite drink was the “pineapple rum” in the Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens.

Nose : Earthy pineapple husks, dunder, citrus and toffee

Palate : Light umami, black pepper pineapple and tart citrus

Finish : Fresh pineapple, molasses bitter orange and wood spices
