In Kingston, back in 1879, Fred L. Myers began producing rum from pure Jamaican sugarcane juice. Myers’s rum became globally recognised and represents nearly a century and a half of Caribbean heritage and pride. Even until today, the rum follows the Myers family’s commitment to fine rums through our careful craft process: Sugarcane juice is boiled into molasses then carefully fermented, distilled and matured in white oak barrels.
Myers’s has a distinctive color, aroma and taste that includes sweet caramel, tobacco, honey, and chocolate with notes of raisin and fig. The finish is a decadent dark chocolate with brown sugar, underlying oak notes and a bit of smokiness.
Myers’s Rum Planters Punch
• 1 part freshly squeezed lime juice
• 2 parts simple syrup
• 3 parts Myers’s Original Dark Rum
• Dash of Angostura Bitters
Mix in shaker filled with ice. Shake well. Serve in highball glass filledwith shaved ice. Garnish with an orange slice
