Kingsbarns Falkland Limited Edition 46%

Kingsbarns Falkland has been distilled from barley sourced less than six miles from the Kingsbarns Distillery. This limited release single malt has enjoyed maturation in two types of casks, maintaining balance and developing complexity.

The spirit comprises of 80% first fill ex-Bourbon barrels and 20% STR Portuguese red wine casks to add another dimension to the whisky. This is an interesting take on our usual distillery style by ramping up our STR influence, and introduces a greater influence of warming spice notes, red fruits, and even some chocolatey notes into the equation.

Tasting notes

NOSE: Redcurrants, sweet sugar, vanilla, sherbet, milk chocolate, chocolate eclairs, orchard fruits.

PALATE: Vanilla custard, smooth, sweet, spiced orange.

FINISH: Berry finish with warm spices.

Kingsbarn Distillery is one of the newer distilleries in Scotland, located in the Fife peninsula, near St Andrews and owned by Wemyss family.

House style of this Lowland, Kingsbarns is  elegant, soft and fruity. Its whiskies are predominantly matured in American oak. The distillery building has been converted from a semi-derelict farmhouse into an impressive modern distillery and visitor centre, at the heart of the distillery is an old ‘doocot’ (also known as dovecot) which is subtly incorporated into the Kingsbarns bottle.
