The name Kilkerran is derived from the Gaelic, “Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain” which is the name of the original settlement where Saint Kieran had his religious cell and Campbeltown now stands. Glengyle now produces a range of Kilkerran Single Malt whiskies, all natural in colour and non-chill filtered. All Kilkerran whisky characterises typical Campbeltown drams; rich, complex and perfectly balanced.
Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 12 comes in a tall whisky bottle unlike previous batches that came in dumpy bottle. This is because Kilkerran’s glass supplier had a fire, causing a disruption in the supply of the usual bottles.
So whilst Kilkerran production is unaffected, Kilkerran release could come in tall bottles for a while. There is no information of whether it will go back to the dumpy bottles going forward or this tall bottle will be used going forward.
