Distilled in 1953, cask #1675 was a sherry butt and then aged for an 58 years before being bottled in 2012. Only 408 bottles , bottled at cask strength of 49.6% vol.
NOSE: A fresh nose, which is surprising given it’s old age. Warm pepper mixed with cloves, followed by sweet maple syrup, luxurious vanilla, flamed orange peel, apricot and plum. Smooth boot polished wood combined with eucalyptus.
PALATE: Fruity at first followed by hints of mint & clove. Coats the mouth well, slightly oily. Chewy, toffee apples with a light nuttiness, the fruit comes in again followed by some toasted oak.
FINISH: Warm toasted oak, hints of fruit & toffee apple.
