This limited edition release from Fettercairn is part of its Warehouse Collection, a series dedicated to limited and rare small-batch whiskies from the 14 traditional dunnage-style warehouses on the distillery site. This is the 5th in the series and the last in the series of the Warehouse Collection series.
Fettercairn Warehouse 14, Batch 1 is distilled in 2016 and released in early 2023, this expression was made using a selection of whiskies from within Warehouse 14, including aged first-fill and second-fill bourbon barrels that were then finished in a trio of beer barrels: stout, dark ale, and pale ale.
The palate has an explosion of tropical fruit notes, accompanied by roasted notes of crème caramel, apricot, cocoa, spices and hazelnut, with a warm, enveloping finish in which tropical fruit still prevails along with spicy wood.
It was bottled at 51.2% ABV, non-chill-filtered, and with no added colouring
Nose : Toasty maltiness, charred pineapple, woody spice, and some creamy nutty elements.
Palate : More tropical fruit, crème caramel, dried apricot, and ginger are supported by a rich, chocolatey backdrop.
Finish : Long and rewarding with more chocolate, nutty goodness, and a bright flicker of refreshing mango.
