First released in 2020, the much-anticipated 16-year-old single malt is the oldest release from the Glengyle Distillery since it began operations in 2004. On the nose are bright and herbal citrus notes, with a gentle, sea-side smokiness. On the palate, you’ll find a complex and balanced dram that has a lot going on: cereals, rich malt, dry peat smoke, dried herbs and aniseed are among the distinguishable notes here.

The first core release from the Glengyle Distillery, who share the same owners as Springbank, the Kilkerran 12 Year Old is a lightly peated and non-chill filtered whisky that been matured in a combination of 70% bourbon casks and 30% sherry casks. Initially fruity with citrus notes and orange peel, after this: vanilla, butterscotch, honeycomb and digestive biscuits can all be tasted and enjoyed.
