This bottling comes from Caol Ila, the largest distillery on Islay known for producing peated malt whisky. Most of its spirit goes into making the smoky backbone of the world-famous Johnnie Walker blended Scotch, making this independent bottling a rare find.

Tasting notes

NOSE:  Rich peat smoke, hints of brine and vanilla and caramel notes.

PALATE: Llayers of smoky peat, sweet vanilla, seaweed. Delicate and salted caramel. Coastal sea spray mingles with a sweet citrus note, lemon meringue pie.

FINISH: Long and warming, with the peat smoke fading to reveal notes of oak and a gentle sweetness.
