Expertly finished for five years in casks that once held Rioja wine, this limited release was finished in Rioja wine casks, resulting in a dram that swirls with oaky nuttiness and waves of red grape and chocolate raisins, with a warming hint of exotic spice.
Tasting notes
NOSE: Initial sweet notes of cherry ice cream and soft caramel fade to reveal toasted malt, dark berries and a subtle note of spice.
TASTE: Roasted nuts, cloves and toasted oak are met with wonderful fruity flavours of sweet red grapes, chocolate raisins and a gentle herbaceous background.
FINISH: Lingering spicy finish with a sea spray mist.
