To make Dalmore King Alexander III, Master Distiller Richard Paterson selected a range of differently aged malts matured in a mixture of French wine casks, Madeira drums, sherry butts, Marsala barrels, port pipes and bourbon barrels from Kentucky. A remarkable feat of blending, resulting in a rich and fruity Highland single malt.
It has a smooth texture with a rich taste that starts sweet, then dries elegantly, with cinnamon and nutmeg before leaving a hint of dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Water introduces caramel and sweetens the taste overall.
