Released in 2021, this special edition is a combination of 33 casks, with 9 only matured in Pedro Ximénez casks from 2015 and 24 casks from 2013 that were finished in PX casks for between 12 and 18 months. The older casks have more layered depth of character compared to the big-hitting full maturation casks, and combining the two produces the perfect balance of maritime smoke, citrus, berries and rich dark honey sweetness.
A limited worldwide release of just 12,000 bottles.
Tasting notes
NOSE: Prunes, sultanas and heathery peat smoke with fresh coffee, sea spray and hints of citrus.
PALATE: Warming, with dark berries, caramelised brown sugar, tobacco leaf, liquorice and fruit cake with mixed spices and smouldering peat smoke.
FINISH: Rounded sherry notes with waves of summer berries and dried spices.
