48.6% | 70cl | NCF | Campbeltown | Cask Strength
A triple distilled and unpeated single malt here from the Springbank Distillery, released under the Hazelburn name.
A 13 year old that was distilled in 2007, and bottled in April 2021. Matured in 75% bourbon and 25% sherry casks. Only 6,300 bottles were released worldwide.
The distillery has been releasing a host of heavily sherried malts of late and it is so refreshing to have this release in its midst. Like sticking your head into a honey jar, and layers of vanilla.
NOSE: Deliciously smooth and creamy like a lemon cheesecake with notes ofvanilla, citrus and digestive biscuits.
PALATE: Fruity with ripe peaches and crisp red apples. The bourbon influence promotes notes of vanilla whilst there are hints of honey and orange rind with a developing undertone of liquorice and aniseed.
FINISH: Delicate with grassy freshness and subtle hints of honey and glazed dates.
