46% | 70cl | NCF | Grain | Lowland
A single cask single grain whisky that was distilled in 1991 at North British Disitillery and matured in a sherry butt.
A mouth-wateringly sweet dram with rich apple cider and maple candy flavours. Will make a good match for Roast Pork Belly on a cold winters night.
As with all Wemyss, this bottle was selected and named with the assistance of Charles Maclean.
Nose: Fresh green apple, pencil shavings and sugar almonds divulge this dram as a grain whisky, yet much more complex wood imparted aromas are abound. Demerara sugar and cinnamon coated almonds develops into more resinous maple syrup and caramel notes.
Palate: Mouth-wateringly sweet! There is an abundance of apple, toffee and caramel flavours. Rich Normandy cider, caramel sauce bountifully applied to bramley apples and rich maple leaf candy all occur on the palate.
Finish: Expect lingering sweet wood tannins to endure on the finish.
